Standing at the top of Portland on an overcast day, I could feel the full force of the clouds moving northward towards the horizon and good weather in the distance

From the coastal path above West Weares you could catch glimpses of Chesil Beach and Portland harbour through the mist, as if you were looking through a window or portal to another place. When sitting on the beach and looking north, sea mist hung over the horizon and swept up over the Chesil bank, like smoke from a chimney. Looking south towards Chesil Cove, the mist had enveloped West Weares and turned the sea silver, but as you looked up you could still glimpse the top of the cliffs, lit up by the sun - a vibrant green
