The six paintings above were made in response to and as a result of a particular day in April
when I could see shower clouds making their way across the sea and then continuing their
journey over the mainland.
It was fascinating to watch the interaction between the elements:
the shadows and colours reflected back from the sea and
the effect on the shape of the rain clouds when they touched the land.
At times there would be no horizon, altering the juxtaposition of land, sea and sky.
